Youth and Liturgy Project

The Youth & Liturgy Project began in 2003 as a joint initiative between Saskatoon Catholic Schools and the Diocese of Saskatoon. This program is designed to bring Grade 6 students and teachers together in liturgical training. The participants, four students and a teacher from each participating school, attend a series of informative and interactive sessions that provide training in planning, preparing and conducting liturgical celebrations. The sessions include topics such as: The Liturgical year, A Walk through the Mass, Music in Liturgy, Sacraments, Byzantine Spirituality, First Nations Spirituality and the opportunity for students to create and celebrate their own school liturgies. The sessions are hosted by various parishes throughout the diocese and eparchy. These student and teacher teams return to their schools with increased knowledge and enthusiasm for planning and celebrating liturgies in their home schools and parishes.
