Feature Story

Grade 8 Leaders Transform the World

Seeing how your support builds leadership, compassion, and community.

When Grade 8 leaders from across the school division gathered on October 1, 2025, they accepted a challenge to spread hope beyond their classrooms. By organizing collections for the St. Mary's Parish outreach centre, students gathered socks, hats, and blankets for those in need.

Ron Georget, Principal at Saskatoon French School, shared that it is important for students to see how small acts of imagination can create meaningful change. Experiences like this help students develop empathy and confidence as they learn they truly can make a difference in the world.

Grade 8 leadership initiatives are proudly supported by the Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools Foundation.

Voices of Impact

“

Our family pantry provides food for families in crisis. It helps families in our school community with a little bit, a bit extra, a gift of something more. It adds to fridges and cupboards. Food nurtures, it comforts, it is a necessity. Our SJ Family Pantry exists because of the generosity of others.

Our afternoon snack program has dramatically shifted the energy in the building throughout the day. The students are more settled and able to learn when they have full bellies. The donations from the broader community impact our students everyday!

Our students are able to skate because of the generosity of people who have donated to our school to make it possible to have a walking path to the warm skating rink at Cosmo and a skating oval right at our school.
